I am an Assistant Professor at

University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Before coming to UWM, I was spending a year at the

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
as a Visiting Assistant Professor.

I finished my Ph.D. at

Rice University
in 2011.

My primary
interests are Ethics, Social & Political Philosophy
and Practical Reasons. My dissertation “Building
Reasons Without Authority” defends a pragmatic
approach to all norm-guided practices: ethics,
political thought, epistemology, and practical
reason. My thesis denies that there are any norms
that have authority over us irrespective of our
involvement with practices that embody them, in
response to which I propose an interpretation of
normative practices that altogether dispenses with
practice-external authoritative facts directing us
what to do, something I claim we neither have nor
need.

                            My resume is here: CV.
